Dr. Naveed Anwar boasts a distinguished medical career marked by international training and a deep commitment to gastroenterology.
A Strong Foundation:
Dr. Anwar’s journey began as a graduate of KMC in 1999. He solidified his foundational medical knowledge by completing house jobs in Medicine and General Surgery.
International Recognition:
In 2001, Dr. Anwar’s dedication was recognized with his successful completion of the PLAB exam. This accomplishment unlocked opportunities for further specialization in the United Kingdom. He embarked on training in the Department of Medicine at West Wales General Hospital, Carmarthen. His potential was further acknowledged in 2003 when he was selected for a prestigious training program in West Midlands, UK. Here, his keen interest in gastroenterology truly flourished.
Extensive Experience:
Dr. Anwar’s commitment to his chosen field is evident in his extensive experience across various hospitals within the UK’s National Health Service (NHS) Trust system. These include Dudley Group, Worcester Acute, Alexandra Hospital Redditch, Walsall General, Sandwell and West Bromwich, Lyndon, and City Hospital NHS Trusts. This diverse exposure equipped him with a comprehensive understanding of gastroenterological practices and honed his clinical skills.
Returning Home with Expertise:
In 2011, Dr. Anwar brought his globally acquired expertise back to Pakistan. He assumed the role of Assistant Professor of Medicine at Pak International Medical College and Peshawar Institute of Medical Sciences. His dedication extended beyond teaching, as he played a pivotal role in establishing an endoscopy unit, a valuable resource for patient care and training. Dr. Anwar remains actively engaged in the field, as evidenced by his current valid license to practice with the General Medical Council UK.
