Comprehensive Pediatric Surgery at PGH
The PGH Pediatric Surgery Department is dedicated to providing the highest quality surgical care for infants and children. We adhere to established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) specifically designed for pediatric surgical conditions, ensuring evidence-based practices for optimal outcomes.
Our approach begins with a comprehensive diagnostic evaluation for each patient. This allows us to develop a personalized treatment plan that may include conservative management or surgical intervention, tailored to your child’s unique needs. Whenever possible, we utilize minimally invasive surgical techniques to promote faster recovery times and minimize discomfort.
Procedures are categorized as day cases for minor surgeries, allowing your child to recover comfortably at home on the same day. For intermediate and major procedures, we offer comfortable in-patient care with a focus on promoting healing and well-being. Our skilled surgeons are adept in both open and minimally invasive surgical approaches, selecting the most appropriate technique for each procedure.
